Introduced at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is an new
crossover vehicle that is claimed to give customers people-hauling and
cargo-carrying capability typically found in larger SUVs. It will be
available with three rows of seats.
Built on GM's Lamda platform - which also underpins the Saturn Outlook, GMC
Acadia and Buick Enclave - the Traverse features styling cues inspired by
the acclaimed Chevrolet Malibu and incorporates the firm's new front-end
appearance.
Powered by a direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 rated at 286hp, the new Traverse
will start production in the third quarter of 2008 at GM's manufacturing
facility in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
